A view from Lilly's room

Lilly's big sister, Shelby, took this picture as she looked out of Lilly's window late one afternoon.
Her dad and I think it is a beautiful picture and that we may have a professional photographer in the family one day. As I look at this amazing view, I am reminded of the beauty and wonder of God's creation. I see God's presence in the vast sky and know that just as He is with me, He is also with Lilly in China. At night, I often look at the moon and stars and am reminded that even though we are half a world apart, Lilly and I sleep under the same moon and stars each night.

I spoke with our agency today, and I was told that our paperwork in China has now made it out
of "review". This means that we have been approved to adopt our precious Lilly! Now we are waiting on the lady who handles all of the special needs adoptions in China to send us our Letter of Acceptance (LOA) and then finallly our Travel Approval (TA). As I told my caseworker on the phone today, it is really hard loving a child who is on the other side of the world. You want so desperately to be with your child whom you have grown to love- to be a mother to her and do all the nurturing acts that a mother does. God led us to adoption, He led us to China, He led us to Lilly's face, and I trust that in His perfect timing, He will bring Lilly and our family together once and for all. What a wonderful day that will be.

I'll close with a few scriptures which have brought peace to my heart as I continue to wait.
Psalm 27:4-" Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord."
Psalm28:7- "The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and I am helped.
Isaiah 26:3- "He will keep in perfect peace all those who trust in Him... "

Lilly's room

We have been working hard for the last several weekends preparing Lilly's room for her arrival. It has been a true family project, and we have all had lots of fun working together. It's almost finished except for hanging pictures and putting up curtains, blinds, and her crib. Of course, it will not really be complete until she is here to enjoy it! We are still anxiously awaiting our Letter of Acceptance (LOA) and then finally our Travel Approval (TA). Please join us as we pray that God would grant this in His perfect timing.
